Default Payload:
The default payload performs the basic PSGroove exploit; it allows you to install and run unsigned packages.Apploader Payload:
This payload makes use of the /app_home/PS3_GAME menu item. You may place an application on a USB drive under the PS3_GAME folder to run it without installing a package. So if you have LV2 Memory Dumper or PS3 FTP Server, you could do something like this: Get a USB stick, create a directory called PS3_GAME and under that create a sub-directory, LV2Dump or PS3FTP. Copy all the files from whatever pkg to the respective sub-directory under PS3_GAME, plug the USB stick into your PS3, and launch the app directly from the XMB.
But — simply extracting a PS3 pkg with a tool such as this won’t work. The EBOOT.BIN must be modified in order for the app to boot properly. I’m sure the tools to make that happen will follow sooner or later.
